Six STEM students received awards for their poster and oral presentation at the 2018 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students in Indianapolis, IN including:聽Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity聽(叠鲍滨尝顿)听蝉肠丑辞濒补谤蝉听Blaine Deribgny, a junior chemistry major;聽Lauren Thornton, a senior biology major;聽Chandler Golden, a senior psychology major; and聽聽Ashley Mello聽a junior biology major; Maximizing Access to Research Careers聽(惭础搁颁)听蝉肠丑辞濒补谤听顿补颈濒颈补听贰濒-顿别蝉辞办测, a senior physiology major聽聽and Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement聽(搁滨厂贰)听蝉肠丑辞濒补谤,听Camilla Do,a senior chemistry major.聽
The four-day conference included: over 2,000 poster and oral presentations given by undergraduate and post baccalaureate student, scientific and professional development sessions, over 380 exhibit booths, networking opportunities, plenary speakers, conference programming tracks for undergraduates, graduates & postdoctoral scientists, and non-students and an awards banquet.聽

The Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) was founded by the American Society for Microbiology to encourage minority, first-generation, veteran and disabled students to pursue higher education in STEM. Today,聽ABRCMS聽is one of the largest professional conferences for underrepresented students.聽
